Uvalde CAC Response
Like many of you, our CACTX family is devastated by the school shooting that took place at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. Our hearts are heavy and filled with sadness but as we collectively grieve our network has begun to do what we do best - spring into action in times of crisis to ensure children and families in Texas are cared for and supported.
The children's advocacy center (CAC) serving Uvalde, Bluebonnet Children's Center, has been called upon to provide coordinated direct crisis intervention services to children and families impacted by the shooting. They are being assisted by staff from neighboring CACs. Our CACs have expertise in crisis intervention, including initial triage and support, screening, and trauma-informed evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Questions related to Bluebonnet Children's Center and overall support during this crisis can be emailed to support@cactx.org.
