Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas to Honor Legislative Champion Senator Jane Nelson

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. (CACTX) will host the biennial Partners in Courage Dinner and Awards Ceremony on January 31, 2017 in conjunction with CACTX Capitol Day. Senator Jane Nelson will be honored with the 2017 Partners in Courage Award, an honor that is bestowed upon a legislative champion who has demonstrated tremendous courage as an advocate in the fight against child abuse. CACTX honors Senator Jane Nelson as a “partner in courage” who represents commitment at the state level that is equivalent to the profound courage that child victims of abuse possess when they walk through the doors of a children’s advocacy center.

CACTX Announces New Board Officers & Board Members

CACTX is excited to begin FY 2017 with a new slate of board executive officers. Lasse Wagene (Houston- Ambrose Resources) will serve as the incoming CACTX President, joined by President Elect Jeff Jeter (Austin- UT Arlington), Vice President James Kimbell (Houston- Strasburger and Price, LLP), Secretary Revlynn Lawson (Austin- Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson), and Treasurer Gina DeBottis Metts (Houston- Retired, Special Prosecution Unit).
