The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. (CACTX) is excited to begin FY 2019 with a new slate of board executive officers. James Kimbell (Houston- Clark Hill Strasburger) will serve as the incoming CACTX President, joined by President-Elect Gina DeBottis Metts (Houston- Retired, Special Prosecution Unit), Vice President Revlynn Lawson (Austin- Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP), Secretary Billy Millwee (Dripping Springs- Sellers Dorsey), and Treasurer Blaine Brunson (Austin- Morgan Stanley).

Women of Courage Volunteer Activity Featured in the Texas First Lady Texanthropy Spotlight

In July, Women of Courage members came together for their first-ever volunteer opportunity, held at the Texas Governor’s Mansion. Thanks to those who participated, 75 blankets embroidered with the phrase “Dream Big”, along with hand-written notes will be shared with children across Texas who receive a My Safe Space room makeover.

When that courageous group of athletes made their elegant statements, they sparked conversations across the country that will lead, in succession, to engagement, detection, justice and, ultimately, prevention.
