| Mission Statement: | The mission of ChildSafe is to restore dignity, trust, and hope to children traumatized by sexual abuse. ChildSafe provides a sensitive environment for the evaluation of child/adolescent sexual abuse which minimizes further trauma to the child and optimizes the investigative process including the following goals: (1)conduct recorded forensic interviews of child victims of abuse, (2) Ensure the coordination of appropriate and thorough investigation of sexual abuse cases with both public and private agencies, (3) Provide crisis intervention and on-going counseling, (4) Advocate for the child and family during the investigative process, (5) provide child sensitive medical evaluation, and (6)provide public education and professional training. |

| Facility Information: | Square footage: 9,000. ChildSafe is a specially designed building to respect and meet the needs of the abused child. The flow of the spacious circular design facilitates treatment while providing a sense of freedom and movement that abused children need. The reception area is a spacious octagon shaped room that provides access to waiting areas, offices, conference, examination and interview rooms. The Teddy Bear room and the 600-gallon aquarium provide an inviting and comfortable place for the children and their families. The two forensic interview rooms and the two examination rooms are designed for the child so they may be at ease during this process at the Center. The child is the focus of this unique center. |
